Aerial - Elev8'd Yoga

This class is taught by:

Jenni Wells

Jenni Wells Bio Jenni was raised in southern Idaho, exploring the mountains and learning about the stars. She has always loved to explore, problem solve, and help people. From a young age, she loved music, dance, and running, even though she never quite felt coordinated enough to make any of those a career. Her interest in the movement of the human body and love of exercise lead her to complete a degree in Exercise Science at BYU in Utah. During this time, Jenni began to practice yoga and never really stopped. After moving to Washington and falling in love with Mount Rainier, she found herself off her planned path of life. Her yoga practice became more and more important as she searched for the next move, and it was in that practice that she found true self confidence. With this in her heart, Jenni enrolled in a 200 hr RYT program. Jenni now teaches restorative yoga, active flow, yoga nidra, seniors yoga, and aerial yoga, as well as functional movement based powerlifting. She loves how yoga strengthens not only the body, but the mind, and builds self confidence. Jenni intends to continue teaching and learning, with the hope that she will be able to help her students grow stronger and more confident in who they are.

DiAnne Bergmann

I started teaching flute lessons at the tender age of 12 because my band teacher recommended me! I've been teaching ever since. I love, LOVE teaching yoga because of the mind, body, and spirit connection. Yoga has impacted my life in so many ways! I've adjusted teaching music (my day job) to part time so I would have time to teach and continue my training in yoga. I have more patience and love for my family, students, and even strangers due to yoga. I fell in love with aerial yoga about 2 years ago and was thrilled to teach it at Elev8. Our studio is a beautiful place filled with compassionate, real, and loving individuals.
Elev8'd Yoga combines Yoga with other forms of movement, such as dance, Pilates and gymnastics, into a hybrid mind-body experience. Using a silk hammock, students are guided through a series of movements and Yoga sequences, flowing through each pose letting your breath guide you, creating a sense of mindfulness, playfullness, and well-being as you stretch out and open up both the body, mind, and heart.

Elev8'd yoga is particularly good for the back and stretching out the spine, and some of its other benefits include decreasing stress and anxiety, increasing strength and flexibility of muscles, as well as mobility of the joints.

One of the main benefits of Elev8'd Yoga however, is the inversions, which includes what is called a Zero-Compression Inversion of the spine, which both stretches out and re-aligns the vertebrae without strain, relieves pressure and hydrates vertebral disks, and refreshes the circulatory, lymphatic, and digestive systems. Also increases overall agility and kinaesthetic awareness, allows for advanced inversions and postures without back or neck compression, as well as an increased sense of presence, and mind-body awareness.

-Please wear a short or long sleeve shirt, or something that covers your underarms, for both comfort and sanitary reasons.

- Please bring your own water bottle for hydration

- Please arrive minimum 10 minutes early to get checked in and measured out your hammock.
